Simple mouse that is functional but still looks good. Very comfortable in the hand. Powered by batteries. A convenient Windows button on the side to open the start menu. Ive used this mouse with both Mac and PC. Download Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Center software so that you can easily remap the buttons. I wholeheartedly recommend this product but before you buy make sure you read the important advice below. Important Advice: Install the software mentioned above! The only downside to this mouse is that the windows button on the side is touch sensitive and programmed by default to move a browser forward or back depending on how you swipe it with your thumb. This is the dumbest feature I have ever seen on piece of hardware in my life. Your thumb will naturally rest around where the button is, so naturally you will accidentally swipe it from time to time! For the longest time I had no idea why I would occasionally lose progress while typing something online. Then I researched online and found out about the insane touch button. Once you disable it the mouse is perfect.

Works great, until it doesnt. This is the second one of these that Ive had and they both developed the same issue. The mouse will work beautifully, then all of a sudden it gets wacky, not smoothly responding to movement. Sometimes, the cursor just stops moving altogether. I have to keep a wired USB mouse at the ready so I can continue to work. Try the MS mouse again later and its fine until it starts acting up again! Ive had several MS wireless mice in the past and always liked them. The last one I had for several years, which is a good lifespan, considering how much I use it. Unfortunately, that model had been discontinued so I bought the Sculpt. Not happy, and Id send it back, but its gone past the return period (as I tried many things to make it work). Ive gone back to a cheap-o, freebie wired Dell mouse, and it works perfectly.

I bought this mouse several months ago. The mouse works just fine with my new HP Spectre Windows 10 computer and I thought having a Windows 10 specific mouse would be beneficial. However, the windows button on the side drove me crazy. The default setting for the windows button causes any window open on my screen to go forward or backward. This action might seem handy, except it would constantly activate unintentionally causing me to lose information in my open window. This happened usually because I accidentally touched the button just right. Since the blue windows button is almost at the point where your thumb normally rests on the mouse, its hard to avoid not accidentally touching the button. I researched on the internet how to reconfigure the button and while I never found a way to do so, I did learn from other users that you can pop the blue cover off (the one with the windows icon) and disconnect that specific button. While Im not advising anyone to do this, I did so and Im much happier without it. After several months, the mouse stills works fine and there has been no harm to the functionality of the mouse.

The Good: - Comfortable to use all day - No lag with Bluetooth - Works we’ll with my Dell Latitude 7480 with Bluetooth and Windows 10 - No need for USB receiver The Bad: - None The Bottom Line: This is a very comfortable Bluetooth mouse. The best part is you don’t have to plug in the USB receiver every time you want to use the mouse. There is no lag with my Dell Latitude 7480 laptop with Bluetooth. There is a scroll wheel and a customizable side button. Overall if you’re looking for a Bluetooth mouse this is a nice option! *If you found my review helpful, please let Amazon know by clicking the helpful button below!

I researched this on Amazon but finally purchased it in a retail store (it was about $5.00 less there!). I have a new Lenovo Ultrabook running Windows 8.1, and it came with built-in Bluetooth. I got tired of plugging a wireless adaptor in and out, so I thought Id give a real Bluetooth mouse a try. It connects just fine and works on several different surfaces without difficulty (it uses Microsofts Bluetrack technology for better tracking). Others have noted that with Windows 8 and 8.1, the Bluetooth connectivity would go in and out. Ive had that same experience, but the problem is not with the mouse but with how Windows Bluetooth is configured by default. There is a setting in Device Manager, under Bluetooth, under the Intel hardware adapter, on the power management tab that allows for a correction of the problem. Simply uncheck the box labeled "Allow the computer to turn off This device to save power" and your intermittent connection problems will go away. It might cost you a bit of battery time, but really not very much, and its worth it. If you dont make this change the mouse is almost useless because if it sits idle for a few minutes, windows will turn off Bluetooth and - no more mouse. The mouse has a power switch on the bottom so you can save battery power when its not in use. The side touch pad works OK, but I dont think its really an improvement on a back button. I reprogrammed it so a thumb swipe down acts as back button in Windows and more importantly in a web browser. Clicking the touch pad brings up the Start screen, which is not really all that useful (at least it hasnt been yet) and that does not appear to be programmable. Im still accustomed to clicking my thumb to move back, so maybe Ill get use to it. The Left and Right mouse buttons on top work as expected and are perhaps slightly quieter than most mice. The scroll button works well, and has both horizontal and vertical scrolling. It is a clickable wheel also, which is very convenient in a web browser (wheel click on a link and it opens in a new, separate tab). Some have asked so: the wheel is smooth, but the motion of it has a tactile click. Id give this mouse 5 stars if it were slightly smaller. I have medium sized hands, and a smaller mouse feels a little more comfortable to me, but this too, is simple what Im used to. I prefer Microsoft mice to other brands, including Logitech. This one works just fine, and its saving my sanity with quirky nature of the touchpad on my Lenovo, when trying to touch type on the keyboard. Anyway, those of you that are reluctant to use this mouse due to the connection problems, there is a simple fix, and once thats done the mouse works great with no disconnect problems.

Got tired of the mouse taking up an USB slot, exp on my new work laptop that now has one less USB. So thought Id try a Bluetooth mouse. After doing some research, this one has good reviews and folks seemed happy with it. So I decided to give it a try. Have been very happy with the performance of the mouse. It was easy to connect to my Windows 7 Lenovo T440S laptop. It even came with two Duracell (not some cheap unknown brand) but I chose to use my rechargeable Duracell batteries instead and they last me a few weeks easy. The only hiccup was when the batteries ran out of juice and I put new ones in, I had to pair it up again, but that wasnt very hard. The mouse has a little lower / sleeker profile and isnt as tall as my other mice, but after a few days I got used to it. And the mouse buttons are much quieter than a normal mouse, which I really like.

I typically expect Microsoft hardware to be bland, and sub-par in the area of features, however, this mouse has much more utility than I had expected. I had purchased about three because, well, Im a hoarder, and I had regretted the purchase due to the Windows button which replaced the thumb mouse button. I used to hate the Windows key on keyboards because Id hit it by accident, and found little use in it. I felt the same way about this mouse, I hadnt realized it had one, especially because I can click that Windows button on the taskbar easier than pushing that thumb button. But then I found something surprising. First off, the mouse is programmable using MSs application. Second off, and most important, it is a touch button! The first Ive ever seen! As well as being able to push the button for the Windows key effect, you can swipe up and down to perform other actions. Since Ive found this, I have been programming it for each app individually. The swiping feature has sold me on the house, and, I cant believe Im saying this, I look forward to more innovative hardware from Microsoft.

I saw the recent rush of left mouse click button fails. Tried it anyway hoping Id get a good one. Nope. Right out of the box the left click was a 1 in 3 proposition. And I did some serious testing. Seems super simple design to ensure the "click" you feel (tactile response) doesnt happen before the electronic switch is thrown. Yet somehow they botched it. I can click like normal and it rarely registers, or mash the button hard for a sure click. But of course the mouse wouldnt last a week and thats no way to mouse. Pulled up a spreadsheet for experimentation and Im wondering if its even a mechanical thing? I tried a consistent click, just enough to get the button click, and it would often hit the second or third click. When I made the clicks longer (held button down after click) it had greater success. Right click was 100% fine so I have no idea how they botched it. Sad part is, I like the mouse. The touchpad is a great feature. It makes your one button into three functions. Thats the mouse mecca right there. More functions without more buttons. Ive tried multiple thumb buttons and theres no way for more than one to be comfortably usable. Every design Ive tried just had extra buttons I never used because of their location. Even the latest Mouse and Keyboard Center software is nice with better flexibility than the past. Ergonomics felt a little flat for a big hand. But if it worked, Id be using it and giving it 4 stars, maybe 5. I expect that some of the mice work for a time. Not a total loss since a bad one can be returned. And at the price point... So Im giving it a 2 star for poor manufacturing quality. Not a 1 star because of the design and ostensible functionality.)

My mouse worked great - until it didnt work. 7 months later, it completely died. It wouldnt connect to anything anymore. We tried new batteries, yelling at it, praying over it. Nothing. No big deal, right? These things happen, thats what warranties are for! Thats when Microsoft began to show its true colors - I cannot get this thing replaced. In the last two days, I have spent over an hour on hold. I have had the line disconnected 8 times. I have placed 11 calls to Microsoft. I even had one of their supervisors call me back to find out what happened to my case - when I explained the situation, he said hed transfer me to the correct department, then hung up on me. Im not rude. I dont yell. Im a nice guy, I say please and thank you. Every call, without fail, one of three things happens: 1) The call just drops, usually after Ive been on hold for a few minutes waiting to be transferred. 2) Im sent to the wrong department. Im often sent to the supplemental parts department, who tells me they dont handle the warranty on this mouse and that its the surface department. The surface department says they dont handle it and transfers me back to the supplemental parts department. Usually, this results in the call just dropping. 3) The representative stops responding and the call drops after a few minutes. So, yeah. I have zero faith in Microsofts customer service. I have spent over an hour on the phone with them, and have yet to even speak to the right person. This mouse is good. Microsoft is garbage. Dont buy this mouse.

I purchased this mouse end of January 2019, and in less than 2 months it no longer works. It started slowly, where it would randomly disconnect from my bluetooth and no longer be recognized (Im running a Windows 10 lenovo thinkpad). I would have to painstakingly restart my laptop and unpair repair to fix the connection. Now, I cannot even repair this device and trying everything, it still no longer pairs. Do not buy this piece of hot garbage - cant believe Microsofts own mouse works so poorly with their own operating system. Google bluetooth connectivity problem with this mouse and you will find others that have the same complaint and problems as me.
