I have a 50" Samsung Smart TV Model UN50J5201AFXZA, No PC connected at all. Read all the Samsung horror stories here, unfortunately after Id bought it and it was on the way... Was ready to get super ticked off, tried it anyways. Plugged the USB reciever into the USB plug on the TV, went into settings to set it up, noticed itd already recognized it, touched the touchpad and a cursor appeared on screen letting me navigate. Jumped over to the web browser, typed into the google search field no problem, surfed the web for awhile, leaving posts on forums, still no hassles, now the app test: Went into netflix, it let me scroll around with the touchpad, opened the search, went to type, nothing... BUT it let me use the mouse to pick letters from the on screen keyboard that pops up, a million times easier than using the remote. Now considering Im not planning on writing any 30 page thesis in Apps, basically just using the search field, and the auto suggest usually tosses up what Im looking for after two letters have been put in, and the touchpad makes even putting those two letters in 10xs easier than using the remote, not being able to type one or two words into an apps search field is not a deal breaker. the web browser is where the use really shines. with just a remote, the web browser is pretty useless. a novelty. with the keyboard, a working and valuable addition to your smart tv., So if you have a Samsung, judge your own use, are you getting it for the web browser? Works great. Are you getting it for apps? doesnt have full functionality, but still better than the remote. But it DOES work, no pc need be connected. It also lets me change channels on the TV using the Page up/Page down keys. Im sure Ill find more uses as I use it, Ill update this as I do.

It works great on ChromeOS, Windows, Ubuntu, and OSX Ubuntu wont pick up the fact that it is a touchpad, so if you want to do any modding to the touchpad like changing the speed, just change your mouse settings. Now, if you want to enable "natural scrolling" also known as "reverse scrolling" or "Australian scrolling", just run this in terminal: echo "pointer = 1 2 3 5 4 7 6 8 9 10 11 12" > ~/.Xmodmap && xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap if you want to undo what that does, all you have to do is run this in terminal: echo "pointer = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12" > ~/.Xmodmap && xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap OR you can do this: rm -r ~/.Xmodmap && reboot NOW If you are interested in pairing other devices to the Logitech Universal Receiver (the little USB thingy that communicates with your device) or if you want to monitor the battery levels of the keyboard, just install the app called Solaar by doing the following: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:daniel.pavel/solaar && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install solaar

Great product ! I own several K400 plus and the older K400. Over 1 year of battery life at many hours a day use.K400 plus vs. K400: The newer version feels more rugged with better quick key layout.Mouse pad works seamless .I can not give it a 5 star rating as the older versions print is much bolder and easier to see in dim light.Neverless I still recommend this product.Thanks Logitech for another quality product at a reasonable price.

Im not a big TV watcher, but navigating around Netflix, Amazon, and other apps on my smart TV with the arrow buttons on the remote was pretty annoying. Especially when I wanted to search for something, and pick out the search string using the arrow buttons on the remote. So it was time for a wireless keyboard for my Samsung TV! I chose this keyboard because there were good reviews, and it was the right price. When I received it, I pulled out the little USB dongle, plugged it into the TV, and then started looking for a "on" switch for the keyboard.... when I noticed IT WAS ALREADY WORKING. Seriously. Zero setup. Just plugged in the dongle, and immediately the mouse and keyboard worked. No config, no software, no effort. I was happily surprised. Ive now been using it for a little more than a month, and I gotta say it is a pleasure that it just Always Works. Ive gotten so used to the crappy Netflix and Amazon apps, and the crappy Samsung interface, that it is a pleasure to use something that just works, works intuitively, and I dont have to think about. I wish all my technology worked as well and as effortlessly as this keyboard!

It is very comfortable to use on the bed, It works on two AA batteries that are already included. It is smaller than your ordinary keyboard, but large enough not to press two keys at a time. The trackpad (or "mouse") is as good as any PC laptop on the market. I use it to control my Raspberry Pi 3 (Model B) and it works perfectly by just pluggin in the USB receiver, no need to download additional software or drivers. The only CON on this keyboard is that I couldnt find where to store the USB receiver on the keyboard (the hole near the batteries that Logitech puts on its mouses).

This Professional version is just a money-grab. The older models are way better. Ive been using the K400 and K400r for years. My issue with the K400r is that it replaces the K400 and makes unnecessary changes like defaulting F keys to Media buttons. You need software to reverse this behavior. The K400 Professional was the answer to this. It had the standard behavior for F keys, and it looks sharper than the other 2 models. Thats where the pros end. The touchpad has terrible sensitivity compared to either the K400 or K400r. The Page Up and Page Down keys are half the size to make room for a larger right Shift key. The most frustrating aspect of this keyboard is the touchpad. The buttons are not as responsive as the older models. A simple drag and drop using the physical button and the touchpad will fail after a few pixels, and the button will start clicking random things as the cursor moves. Furthermore, forget about anything that requires double clicking and dragging anything with the touchpad without using the buttons. It simply doesnt do this. I tested with a few applications and dragging this way does not work. It certainly seems like Logitech decided to release this product in black, replace the F keys to the default behavior, call it Professional version and charge $40, while at the same time completely making it unusable and much inferior to the non-Professional version. Skip this and get a K400r and use the Setpoint software to flip the F buttons behavior.

After much searching, research, returned items, this is the keyboard that worked. I have a Samsung UN43J5200FXZA 43" Smart TV with Smart Hub and web browser. This keyboard is the only one I found that works seamlessly with the TV. Other keyboards either didnt work at all, or some features of the keyboard, (like the touch pad) would not work or be recognized by the Smart TV. I purchased a 3 foot USB extension cable that I routed from the USB connector behind the TV to the bottom edge of the TV to eliminate the "behind the tv" range restrictions, allowing the USB "dongle" to be seen by the keyboard for longer range and better fidelity. The keyboard is well built, with good tactile response, and the mouse pad is sensitive enough with being too sensitive. Adjust the mouse speed in the TVs setup menu to find the speed you are comfortable with. Although the supplied manuals are not very helpful, lets be honest; its just a keyboard. Its not that hard to figure out the right settings. The single and double finger shortcuts are very intuitive, and the extra "left mouse button" in the upper left is actually quite useful. Overall, a nice little wireless keyboard/mouse product that works with a Samsung Smart TV as well as just about any computer with a spare USB port. It should work with any Samsung J5200 series Smart TV.

Great keyboard. Logitech should have been my first choice. An a+ company. 1. Touchpad. The touchpad is slightly smaller than the ms version. However, this is a benifit. On the ms keyboard, I was constantly moving the pointer when holding the keyboard. This does NOT happen on the Logitech keyboard because the touchpad does not go all the way to the bottom. There is a small area under the touchpad that you can hold the keyboard without touching he touchpad. 2. Receiver. If the receiver gets lost or damaged, you can simply purchase a new one (for $15). The use the Logitech software to pair it back up with the keyboard. Also, the Logitech receiver can connect to several Logitech devices. (The ms version is hard coded to the 1 keyboard) I already have a spare receiver because I also purchased a Logitech wireless mouse, and paired it up with the receiver that came with the keyboard. 3. Keys seem better, and the function key and placement seems better. I previously purchased the Microsoft keyboard a few years ago. The receiver got damaged, and I was upset that it was not possible to replace the receiver and pair them up. I was told I needed to simply purchase a new keyboard!!!! What! Nice for ms, bad for consumers.

My sister needed a new keyboard for her home theatre PC. I have the older version of this keyboard the K400R. In general, I love this keyboard. Its perfect for use in the living room. It would be nice if it were actually a bit smaller and with a reliable trackball in addition to the mouse pad. I have shopped around and tried some other home theatre keyboards and this one from Logitech is the best and most reliable youre gonna get. I want to point out right off the bat this model for sale is the K400+. Its different from the older two previous models but very similar. I also want to make it clear, I definitely prefer the K400R. What I really dont like about the + model is the track pad isnt as precise and the up and down arrow keys are in the same key slot. Which frequently causes mistakes since every other key on the keyboard and the older models have their own key slots. Im constantly missing the top key and pressing the shift key above it or hitting down when I need to hit up and its extremely annoying. The mouse buttons on the track pad are smaller than the older versions. Which hasnt been an issue for me too much, but I have missed the buttons on occasion. There are some function keys missing the older version had, but I hated them so Im glad theyre gone. The one change I really like is they moved the volume control and mute buttons directly above the track pad. Which is nice. They also redesigned the battery slots to be easier to access. What I really like about this keyboard is it eliminates the need for a mouse and a keyboard on my couch or coffee table. It can absolutely get irritating using this track pad for everything and especially if you have a lot to do, but for most stuff its tolerable. Both the range and the battery life are excellent. I can maintain a connection pretty much anywhere in my house. I also like the yellow mouse button on the top left corner. It allows you to move and select things more quickly. Typing on it, for me, is uncomfortable. For lengthy typing sessions, its not ideal. I prefer a larger ergonomic keyboard with split and angled keys. But again, for on the couch and simple browsing, its perfect for that. Its also got a nice little storage area for the wireless USB adapter in the battery compartment. So for the older K400R I would give a solid 5 stars for the superior mouse pad tracking and lack of confusing key layout for the arrows. But for this model, the K400+, I can only give 4 stars. The improvements of this newer model are outweighed by its flaws. I have seen the older model for much cheaper at the time of this review. Im thinking about buying it again and keeping this one as a back up or something.

Had trouble with the tap-to-click feature of the track pad (touch pad) when using the keyboard with an Android box. The track pad would open things although I had not clicked and I could not determine why. Well, by default the K400 Plus is set with tap-to-click on the track pad. Very annoying and seemingly glitchy. To turn it off, hit the Function key and left click button under the track pad simultaneously. You must do this every time the keyboard is turned on. There should have been some way to disable this feature so that it stays off - thus 3 stars. Plus there is no manual for this model. Jeez. With windows you can turn off tap-to-click by reverting to older drivers that allow this feature to be disabled - check YouTube for details.
