Got on Friday and Used at a wedding on Saturday (the next day). The connection piece literally broke during the ceremony so I had no flash for one of my cameras the whole 10 hour day. Maybe a faulty one but extremely dissapointed. Thankful I had another flash with me or the reception would’ve been ruined.

Ill start by saying im not a professional photographer, but would consider myself an enthusiast. I now have 6 of these YN-560IVs and have shot several events and have done some outdoor daytime portraiture. I have nothing to compare to as these are my first flashes to use off camera. For the events Ive had an area set up for portraits and another setup for the gathering/dining/party area. In addition to the flashes I have two of the YN560-TX transmitters, one per camera/lens setup for each area and so far Ive been really happy with how the system works. Keep in mind each YN-560IV flash can operate as a transmitter, so you really do not need the YN560-TX. I opted to have the dedicated transmitter to reduce the size of my camera setup. So far great flashes and I have no reason to think these flashes would let me down. If you are on the fence as whether or not to try, drop the hammer, I think youll be satisfied.

I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a good light! I have used this multiple times with my cannon Rebel. It gives off a great light. It does take a little while to respond after it is triggered. The only big thing that I don’t like about it is that sometimes it will come off the camera. It didn’t exactly hold it very firmly in place. It does required batteries and if you constantly use it in one night you may have to change batteries. For the price you can’t go wrong with them.

I love my Sony A6000s but one thing I dont love is there flashes for it. They are pricey and not very well thought out when compared to Nikon and Canons I have used in the past. I decided to try out these Yougnuos I have been hearing all these rave reviews about and always thought they had to be Chinese junk. Well the reviews were right and I was wrong about these, they are amazing. They out perform flashes I have had for four to five times the amount minus the TTL which is very overrated. Look, if you dont know how to work a flash get on Youtube watch a few videos and learn, its not hard and you will be rocking these things. The instructions are a bit so-so but again Youtube, spacifically ZY productions review of the YN560 IV really helped me get it to fire with the YN 560-TX controller I also ordered with it. I bought one and will be ordering another two real soon.

Got this and the top moves instead of being one tight piece. So when you try to put it on the shoe is moves back and forth which cant be right. I have a Yongnuo iii and it doesnt move at all. I rarely use flash so I didnt realize there was an issue until after my 30 day return. So I assume bc its the top is not tight there is something causing it not to connect to the camera so it wouldnt work. At a wedding no doubt! After I got home it worked. Then again not the next time. I would love to try and have it exchanged but doubt il get much response. I will try today, esp it not being my fault.

At least in my two units, this brand has proven to be no so reliable. Both units stopped working correctly after a short time and nonuse at all. I lost my money. Theyre cheap but heres that time when its better to spend more on equipment.

I had a previous version of this flash before and used a couple of minutes and just stop working, i had to replace it, then the new one worked ok for about a couple of years, then I bought this new one and I test it and it was fine, a month later I had to use it, it did its job but the week later I had to used it, the flash was dead... so I used once then it is just a paperweight, is a good flash but not reliable at all.

This is a fantastic deal! For just a little over seventy-five dollars, you get both a transmitter and a receiver. The display controls are not difficult to learn and I have taken many great great photos since adding this to my photo kit. I am far from being a professional photographer and know first hand that perfecting the use of flash photography can be daunting and overwhelming. This device has helped me a lot and triggers my wireless flashes without error.

To date, I have bought two of these flash units and have had ZERO issues with either one. In fact, the first one is now over a year old and has never given me any sort of issue. These are MANUAL flashes and not TTL capable! I see so many reviews on here for this flash where the purchaser gave them a low rating and bad review because of this. Its not the manufacturers or the flash unit itself that is responsible for not reading the listing completely and for the purchaser not doing their own research about the item they intend to purchase. They connect nicely and fire accurately when controlled by the camera and also while being controlled by the Yongnuo 560TX wireless controller. Both flashes adjust by 0.3 steps of power, and unless running at 1/4th power or higher, they tend to be pretty easy on the battery life of 4 decent rechargeable AA batteries. The flash head is "zoomable" from 24mm to 105mm both as a single unit and through the 560TX controller to help get the light where you need it. I havent had an over heating issue with them yet, but Im not running them at maximum power to do the job of a higher powered strobe either. These are just simple inexpensive flash units that do their job well. At nearly half the cost of some of the other products available on the market of this nature, I will gladly continue to use these after seeing my other flash last me over a year now under pretty decent amount of usage. In fact, its probably due to be replaced pretty soon to insure the flash bulb matches the performance, color, and brightness of the flash I had just bought this last week on the current order through Amazon. To the Sony shooters out there that have models with the Sony MI hot shoe, both the Canon and Nikon version of this flash and the 560TX controller (also both available in Canon or Nikon) work perfectly fine with Sony cameras. I use them constantly on several of the Sony bodies such as the a3000, a6000, and the a68. No issues at all, make sure the flash is set to either M or Multi, set your camera to Fill Flash in Manual or Program mode. Be sure to attach the flash or controller to your camera body first, turn on the flash or controller and then turn on the camera. If you dont have the flash mounted and turned on before the camera is turned on it will cause the camera to not detect that it is attached.
