I was simply looking for an inexpensive flash that would work attached to a Canon Rebel T5i, and this totally exceeded expectations. The flash works great. It can be adjusted to change the flash output, and it can be aimed 360. The highest flash is very bright, and the lowest flash is a nice subtle light. It is perfectly compatible with the Canon camera.The nicest surprise is it can be used as a wireless flash off the camera... in other words, an inexpensive way to have a portrait studio, or to work with side lighting. And wait, thats not all! It comes with a remote for your camera! Granted, the remote is pretty inexpensive and is simply a button that acts as the shutter release.... but it does work, and was a bonus as I wasnt really looking at that when deciding whether to purchase! The diffuser is inexpensive plastic, but it does the job and thats all you really need. Be prepared to find a you tube video by others who had used it or something similar as the manual didnt translate very well. It has my full stamp of approval.

Install Flash Player I researched and read many reviews of flashes before buying this one, and Im really glad I did. This Flash is perfect for price and good value. No it cant do TTL or anything fancy like that but if you want a manual flash thats easy to operate and reliable with a decent build quality then this is your best bet. Its plenty powerful enough and also comes with a terrific little soft box which is incredibly useful and can also be used for other classes as well.

I have a Nikon d5300 and I Really like this flash a lot. This flash works so great for the price you get it for. I have never owned any flash for my camera before. Im sort of a beginner and Im learning how to use my camera more and more everyday. So I thought it was time for me to get a flash because the built in flash is way to harsh. When I was searching on amazon I found this flash. Im a college student, I wanted something that was going to give me great results but wasnt going to leave me broke. When I opened the box, I was surprised of the weight of the flash. It didnt feel like cheap plastic. Its pretty sturdy. The pictures attached are pictures I took in my house( I used the softbox they give you in the package). The light in my house isnt that bright and gives people a orange skin color.. When I put on the flash it really made a crazy difference. Btw these pictures are not edited. Just straight out of my camera to the computer. If you want a great flash for cheap, DONT LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE

I was excited to see a flash this cheap on the market, and I figured at its price point that it would be a starter flash that might last me 6 months or so before Id need to upgrade to something better. I decided to test out a pair of these at my next wedding. I was quite happy with the performance for the first 3-4 hours that I used it during the day, but unfortunately, both of them died on me right before the grand entrance of the couple to their reception. Thankfully I was shooting with two other photogs, and using a Sony so I was able to adjust and still get usable images, but I was still quite disappointed that they didnt even make it through a whole wedding. I triple checked the connections, changed the batteries on both, and tried them on multiple cameras and they wouldnt even test fire again for two days afterwards. This product is great if youre an amateur photog or just getting into flash and are looking for something to play around with occasionally, for shorter periods, but if youre looking for a cheap alternative for higher end flashes for weddings and events this isnt the flash for you. Its worth the extra money to buy one you can trust not to fail during an event.

Decent Speedlite Flash Bundle for DSLR Cameras. Im still trying to figure it out but definitely a great bundle to start with as a beginner. Im still learning the product so its hard to say there is anything wrong with the flash bundle. It is clunky (but any speedlite flash is honestly) and it does take a little getting used to. I just need to play with it more to get the hang of it. Pros: 1. The flash works when mounted on your cameras hotshoe. It has a broad range, from low fill to very bright and the adjustment controls are simple UP/DOWN buttons. 2. The fold-up diffuser does what its supposed to do. Cons: 1. The remote shutter release is useless. Youll spend twenty seconds per shot waving your arm around, changing its aim and position in the air trying to hit the cameras IR sensor. Its beyond frustrating. 2. The flash doesnt work in off-camera slave mode. Specifically, you can trigger it with your cameras pop-up flash but 90% of the time, its not in proper sync and therefore your subject is only lit by the pop-up flash. I know its not operator error because it syncs up properly on one out of ten or twenty shots. You could successfully shoot an inanimate object using this flash, but it would take you all day and 95% of the shutter wear on your camera would be wasted. 3. The flash feels extremely fragile, not to mention loose and rattly. The built-in diffuser and bounce card dont have that straight, "on-rails" feeling, they slide out crooked and dont feel well-connected. The battery door feels way too flimsy and once that breaks, this unit is dumpster food. 4. The fold-up diffuser is that cheap vinyl-over-cardboard that lasts about two shoots and then splits along every seam. Its also a needlessly-complicated pain to attach it to the flash, involving a velcro strap that must be fed through a "belt loop" on each side, then tightened and velcroed. It takes a couple of minutes, unlike the plastic ones that just slide on nice and tight in two seconds. If you simply need more light (or directability) than your cameras pop-up flash and dont mind wasting shots (and shutter wear) while manually dialing in the proper intensity, then this manual flash will work for you. Just dont expect too much durability/longevity. Also be aware that the other items in this bundle are of very poor quality so if you want to try the flash, Id order it on its own. If you want to use it as an off-camera slave unit, then run away from this flash/bundle as fast as you can, because every one of its items is practically useless.

As a college student perusing a photography career and is on a tight budget this flash is excellent! Im happy with the photos it took the lighting was perfect. Everything was delivered as expected and in excellent condition. This was worth the money and Ill be buying more products from Goja.

I finally had time to use my flash during a photo shoot. Since it was my first time using flash it was a learning curve. Had to learn about the importance of the GN (38 for this flash) and how to determine my iso, aperture and distance. Read the manual and watch a few videos on youtube. It helps. The flash worked as advertised and with as much as used it did a great job. The photo shoot was long and I kept the device on most of the time. In manual mode it has this sleep setting the works when it should. To turn sleep mode off all you need to do is hit text. I like the images from the event. I did accidentally hit the buttons with my hat and overexposed a few images but that was mistake. I need to remember to remove my hat. This flash is well priced and as a photographer that is still learning how to use flash this is the best place to start. BTW, everything came packaged perfect. I also have not used the remote.

For most Canons just make sure you have it set at the right flash Shutter Speed of 1/250 (no faster than that) otherwise you get 1/4 of the picture darkened and you get this line across the bottom of your pictures. You have to play around with f-stop and aperature to get the right lighting desired. The only thing I dont like about this flash is how cumbersome it is to keep it on top of your camera if youre moving around. So its ok with portraits, using a tripod, not so great for photos taken moving around. Its bulky and tends to come off the hot shoe of my Canon pretty easily. For moving around Im going to adapt it so I can put a speedlight cord and hand-hold the flash instead having it mounted on the camera. This will also allow for better spot-lighting - directed where I want it to be when I take the picture. With a diffuser the lighting is soft and nice, and subject is highlighted beautifully. Without the diffuser its pretty blue and bright. Overall happy with my purchase. Not bad for less than $40. Its not High Speed flash, but alone itll do for still-life and portrait photography. Works fine with my Canon 80D.

An impressive bundle! Ive used this for several shoots and the recycle time is impressive for such a cheap flash. I was able to fire once every few seconds even on higher settings and very rarely had to slow myself down to make sure the flash was ready. I think out of about 350 pictures I did for a client on location at night, the flash missed the mark only about 2 times, and I was never slowing down my process to make sure it was keeping up. I was also shooting full-body images and couldnt have the flash too close, so I had to have it set on the higher end. I have comparable flashes but went with this one because it came with some free goodies and the extra stuff they include (small light-box diffuser and infrared remote) both worked great for my Canon 70D. The remote isnt super powerful, so I wouldnt rely on it too much for serious shoots, but I needed to do self-portrait head shots recently and I used this remote to trigger the camera to great results. I was about 5 feet from the camera and occasionally it didnt trigger so Id move my hand to make sure the infrared was picked up by my camera, but for a freebie item it was a really nice addition.
